The Lead

A few years ago. Exactly in 2014, I got a chance to participate in an interview based on my polytechnic degree. There were B tech students too. When I entered the interview hall, I realized that the interview was for hiring “Customer care Executives” for a reputed company, whose customers were mainly Native English speakers.

Wait. What? Dealing with native speakers? If I had to rate my English skill on a scale of 1-10 I would give myself just 1. Murmuring a four-letter word many times I started paying attention to the interviewing executives. I really wanted to leave that hall but sadly I made some acquaintances in the first place. I cannot escape from them without getting noticed.

The interview has not yet started. But because of a large volume of applicants, they have to filter out some weeds. Yeah.. (including me).

The filtering process was amazing. Each one of us got to stand up against that entire crowd and talk about any topic. Thanks for giving me a choice. But the truth is I am bad at English. I didn’t even have the skill to read and understand an English newspaper.

Now they are telling me to make a speech out there. I think you can feel the emotions, the humiliations I felt at that time when I was standing among that crowd.

God. I looked around for an opportunity to exit by skipping that weed filtering exercise. Obviously, I don’t wanna be their weed. I asked for their permission to go to the bathroom and thank god, I found a way out. hurrah.

Self Reflection

On the way back home by bus, I got a side seat. I reflected upon my situation. No job. No skills. What a waste I am. Yeah, I’m a weed in this world. But, instantly I got a strange sensation to check the meaning of weed.

I found this on google: a wild plant growing where it is not wanted and in competition with cultivated plants.

Yeah, of course. I’m not a weed. I may be wild but I don’t want to compete with anyone. I wanna be myself. But how? What do I wanna do to become the best version of myself?

Somehow I gravitated towards the self-investment and motivational industry and decided to become a fluent English speaker at any cost. Thanks for that failed-interview. No. I Didn’t fail, I didn’t even attempt it. I didn’t even give it a try. Too bad.

Why did I tell this *king story to you guys? To motivate you. Yeah. Whatever your dream is it’s possible through goal setting and thorough planning, but if you have the motivation to achieve it. Do you have the motivation to become a fluent English speaker and speak English better than a native speaker? Here I’m gonna share the methods I’m Using.
